Maybe you’ve heard (or are unfortunately living it in the northeast like us) – winter is in full swing, and we’re reminiscing of sunny days in LA, shooting with one of our favorite DJs: Zen Freeman.

If he’s not on your radar, he should be. Zen’s a staple at red carpet events and sold out international festivals. He’s toured with the likes of Calvin Harris, Paul Oakenfold, and Tiesto, been invited to perform at Cannes, Sundance, and Toronto International Film Festival, and recently he joined an acclaimed lineup of residents at LiFE nightclub in Las Vegas following a two-year residency at Hakkasan in LV. But he’s not just a DJ… and it’s likely you saw the internet burst into flames with the release of “Dance Bitch,” his collaboration with Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul (!!).

Download or stream one of his recent live-event playlists below from Art Basel Miami Beach – another take-me-back moment of sunshine and fun HERE.

As autumn starts to roll in, the heavier clothes come out. It’s tradition, and we all know that especially here in New York City, the beginning of October marks the beginning of a significant drop in temperature. Shorter days, longer nights and double the layers: fall is back.

Let’s work against those apprehensive feelings of the looming colder months together. While we agree the unwelcome change in season can feel intimidating, we decided to put in some extra work to find an effective solution that keeps you looking sleek (yet warm).

Cue the Paul & Shark A/W ‘14 collection. Promised to keep the chill down in the thick of knits and outerwear pieces, the brand has done its work on maintaining a refined aesthetic – merging textures and innovative fabrics to create the perfect collection that doubles as a shield while fighting the battle we so commonly call winter.

The 2014 A/W Paul & Shark Collection is now available on

There’s no blueprint for making it big in America. If only it were that, dare we say, elementary. But cracking the stateside market does require a specific mix: fierce talent, dashing style, unabashed confidence, and a customized strategy for world domination. Cue a new wave of British talent that’s descended upon the U.S., invading the airwaves with innovative sounds and disrupting playlists of even the most sophisticated DJs. It’s enough to make you want to turn the volume up—all the way up.Meet Tom Odell and Rudimental. We quizzed the gifted newcomers about the fast lane to success, their respective takeover strategies and why Brits are always so irresistible.

TOM ODELL: With his recently released debut album, Long Way Down, piano-playing rocker Tom Odell proves that he’s definitely a talent to watch. The 23-year-old won’t be in one place for very long—he’s speeding toward superstardom backed by soulful songwriting skills and a one-of-a-kind voice. We got a gander at the native of Chichester, England, posing next to a stark-white JAGUAR F-TYPE Coupe and one thing was perfectly clear—he’s ready.

Do you remember a specific moment when you knew that you’d arrived? One of the coolest things that’s ever happened to me is when I played in L.A. at the El Rey Theatre. I had just gotten to know Elton John and he was in L.A. at the time. When I arrived at the venue, he had left two bottles of champagne in the dressing room with a note that said, “Be brilliant. Love, Elton.” That’s the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me.

Let’s pretend that you get the JAGUAR F-TYPE Coupe to drive anywhere in the U.S. Where do you go first? I’d drive to Joshua Tree…. So many people I’ve met say that I need to go there because it’s a spiritual ground of creativity.

RUDIMENTAL: Underground music produced in London’s shadowy byways typically lives where it was born—underground. Rudimental, the electronic music quartet composed of East London songwriters/producers Piers Agget, Kesi Dryden, Amir Amor, and DJ Locksmith, is causing a stir in the states following breakout performances at California music fests Outside Lands and Coachella. The bandmates and real-life mates dished on their road to stateside stardom during breaks from posing alongside JAGUAR’s sleek new F-TYPE Coupe.

What about your musical style has allowed you to disrupt the American music scene? DJ Locksmith: It’s new, fresh, exciting, and very British. But at the same time, it’s our own unique sound. It’s not that clean; it’s got that raw, soulful sound with electronic bass. That’s what everyone is feeding into. And the energy when you see us live is just the best.

What’s the biggest difference between your band and American bands? Kesi: There aren’t a lot of bands like ours. We’re a mix of electronic and live music. Not many bands I’ve seen can take it live like we do. With nine of us, including our live band, onstage at the same time going crazy, it’s a full-on experience—a big show!

S. Russell Groves, the contemporary architect & interior designer known for his “layered modernist” approach, reveals a refined & timeless cool vs. “flash in the pan” trendiness. The proof: Michael Kors, Derek Lam and Frederic Fekkai have called on him to design their own homes—a testament to his “finger on the pulse” of today’s creative zeitgeist.

Details caught up with Russell for his take on how to bring a bit of his “boutique” look home.

1. When in doubt, keep it simple. Life is complicated enough.

2. With few exceptions, one or two bold colors or patterns really make a statement. Too much is often exactly that—too much.

3. Limit ornament to a few key pieces. Spaces always feel better when highly decorative elements are introduced with care.

4. Just like in fashion, choose the classics. Pieces by designers such as Hans Wegner, Florence Knoll or George Nakashima have stood the test of time.

5. Set the Mood: Have dimmers for every light source in a room—it can make or break any space.

Joey Tierney is a men’s fashion expert, having styled some of Hollywood’s best-known actors including Billy Bob Thorton, Andy Garcia, Viggo Mortensen, Scott Caan, Alex O’Laughlin, Michael Cera, and Seth Green. Be sure to follow her top five fall fashion tips to dress the part this autumn.

1) Shades of Grey: Leave your navy suits from last season in your closet. Grey suits are taking over this fall and give a sharp, sophisticated look.

2) Nothing says fall like knit sweaters; they are a must -have essential as the leaves change color and the weather becomes more brisk.

3Polished tailored separates are and always will be a clean, classic fashion to follow.

4) Mixing solid with bold patterns is a colorful way to express yourself. With an unlimited amount of combinations, your outfit will never look mundane.

5) Peak lapels are a strong fashion statement that let the world know you mean business when it comes to your wardrobe.
