In celebration of the Brioni S/S 14 Collection and Brioni’s new boutique at Bal Harbour Shops, DETAILS activated our philanthropic art initiative, The DETAILS Guild, to collaborate with local artist Alexander Mijareson a custom mural in the Wynwood Arts District of Miami. To toast the partnership and boutique opening, DETAILS and Mijares co-hosted a private cocktail party showcasing his artwork with a limited-edition run of prints that were sold to benefit local charity Overtown Youth Center.

1. When in doubt, keep it simple. Life is complicated enough.
2. With few exceptions, one or two bold colors or patterns really make a statement. Too much is often exactly that—too much.
3. Limit ornament to a few key pieces. Spaces always feel better when highly decorative elements are introduced with care.
4. Just like in fashion, choose the classics. Pieces by designers such as Hans Wegner, Florence Knoll or George Nakashima have stood the test of time.
5. Set the Mood: Have dimmers for every light source in a room—it can make or break any space.
